The Spa at Mandarin Oriental’ – a haven of tranquillity within the heart of Knightsbridge that combines harmonious design elements with therapeutic rituals – is entirely dedicated to the guest’s well-being. Using Mandarin Oriental’s signature collection of luxury spa products developed by internationally recognised spa company, E’SPA, ‘The Spa at Mandarin Oriental’ tailors treatments to the specific needs of each guest, acknowledging their individuality.
Adopting a different approach to the traditional spa experience, the spa offers a series of innovative and restorative treatments, known as ‘Time RitualsTM’, where guests are encouraged to book ‘Time’ rather than a specific treatment.

Each Ritual begins with a recommendation by the spa manager to arrive 45 minutes ahead of the actual treatment. This period of preparation enables all guests to fully immerse themselves in the philosophy of the spa by relaxing within the separate male and female areas that include:
A Sanarium which is a variation of the classical Sauna, combining sauna with humidity, ensuring a more gentle and comfortable experience, enhancing the relaxation process.
A Vitality Pool that has been designed to aid the release of tired and aching joints. It contains a selection of hydrotherapy body jets, a floor jet as well as a reclining lounger with jets to gently
massage the entire body. Up to four guests at a time can sink into the depths of the 36-degree soothing pool. Another innovative element in the relaxation process is the Amethyst Crystal Steam Room, its main feature being a large Amethyst Crystal, designed to induce mental peace, tranquillity, inspiration and meditation.
A Zen Colour Therapy Relaxation Room, invites guests to unwind on specially designed Azumi beds, while listening to calming music through inbuilt headphones or enjoying one of the exclusively blended exotic herbal teas. Guests are then led by therapists and taken up to the treatment suites. The experience starts with a relaxing foot massage whilst an individual analysis of each guest’s lifestyle and characteristics takes place in order to individually tailor their Ritual. This could include the following:
- Oriental Harmony - Two therapists correspond in time and movement, providing a warm scrub that smoothes and replenishes the skin, followed by a harmonious massage that balances the body.
- Shiatsu Inspired Ginger Ritual - A finger pressure technique to the body’s Shiatsu points, stimulating the flow of energy and restoring balance within the body.
- Ama Releasing Abhyanga – Ayurvedic Marma Massage as a warm infusion of oils and herbs is applied to the vital energy centres of the face and body.
- Life Dance Massage – A Shiatsu inspired free flowing massage to improve suppleness and movement whilst relieving the stress and tension of everyday life.
- Padabhyanga Foot Therapy - Gentle stimulation of the Marma points in the feet, which mirror the systems and functions of the body.
- Personalised Wraps - Nurturing elements harvested from the earth and oceans provide vitamins, minerals and essential nutrients to detoxify, re-energise or soothe the entire system
- Stimulating Hip & Thigh Treatment – concentrates on areas prone to cellulite and fluid retention.
- Oriental Salt Scrub – skin softening body exfoliation combining sea salts, nourishing oils and essential oils.
- Total Indulgence Pre/Post Natal Treatment - Advanced massage techniques to safe areas, using Calendula infused oil, various muds and creams.
- Holistic Back, Face and Scalp Massage with Hot Stones - Deep cleansing and exfoliation of the back, followed by a hot stone back massage with aromatic oils bringing powerful de-stressing benefits to mind and body.
The Spa at Mandarin Oriental’ offers full and half day packages, in addition to holistic hand, foot and nail treatments. People who are not staying at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park need to book a minimum of two hours at ‘The Spa at Mandarin Oriental’, whilst hotel guests are able to book any of the treatments. A separate gymnasium is also available where guests are able to make use of the latest state-of-the-art cardio vascular equipment between 6.30am and midnight.
