Description I’m June, that’s me below, one of the founders of Du Veldt Interiors, and I am responsible for sourcing all our products. I’ve always had an interest in Interior Design, and have developed a love of African Art. My partner, David and I were so inspired by the standard and diversity of contemporary African design during our trips to Southern African countries that our vision for Du Veldt Interiors was born. Beautiful, unique home accessories, arts and interiors inspired by contemporary African design are at the heart of our collection. If you are looking for unusual gift ideas, or perhaps looking for inspiration for gifts for women who have everything, or an unusual wedding gift, we are confident we can help. We have selected a exclusive range of hand blown glass, ceramic art, handmade dinnerware, designer mirrors, and a luxurious range of soft furnishings all inspired by contemporary African design, with the exception of our Italian range of tableware. Southern African Design mainly inspires our collection. When visiting different countries we are always looking for something different, some beautiful and unique objects for home that we simply can’t find in our home country. How many times have you been on holiday and fallen in love with something that you just could not bring back home with you? The African continent is a vast melting pot of colours, textures and expression of cultural history, expanding from primitive traditions to contemporary art. Many of today’s African Interior Designers display references to tribal cultures fused into contemporary designs, using lots of natural materials and rich earthy colours. This reflection of cultural influences creates a wonderful colourful style that is unique and undeniably African. We are seeing a growing interest and trend in African design and Safari style, particularly prints on the catwalk and designs in the home. Our collection will hopefully inspire you to introduce a touch of modern Africa into your home or choose a unique gift. Many of our products are handmade, each piece unique, and because they are not mass-produced, they are exclusive and certainly a bit different. You may never come across anything similar again, particularly with artwork I firmly believe if you love it, buy it or be prepared to wish you had later.
