Description
Anglepoise have been creating table lamps for over 70 years and we pride ourselves on a British design classic that has stood the test of time and has redefined how versatile a table lamp can be, no matter what its intended use.
Our range of table lamps not only feature the original three-point manoeuvrability of George Carwardine's design but also now incorporate the modern consumers' changing needs when it comes to using energy saving bulbs. In fact in addition to our table lights we now have a range of floor lamps that come with an energy saving bulb.
Our range of daylight lamps such as the Moonbeam range are used by many professionals from architects to interior designers and graphic artists, as every one of the lamps we produce can add the right combination of adaptability and intensity of light. Our daylight lamps are available as free delivery to all mainland UK addresses and we can offer business clients a trade discount if you're looking to buy a number of our products from any of our ranges.

Company Story

We have a family history spanning 151 years and counting. There have been a few changes on the way and a few additions, but we are proud to be in our 6th generation and have always made the Anglepoise Lamp since the 1930's.

Jack Terry - Founder's Great Great Great Grandson

The latest addition to the family. Born November 2006, weighing in at just under 7 pounds. There is certainly no pressure for Jack to join the family business from his father, but who knows in over twenty years time!

Simon Terry - Founder's Great Great Grandson

Joined the business in 2001, having worked in visual effects in the film industry for ten years. He has helped to develop a new change in direction for the business focusing on the design heritage

John Terry - Founder's Great Grandson

A Harvard MBA student and ex-racing driver. He has focused on the Anglepoise business and continued to run it as a private family company

Norman Terry - Founder's Grandson

Had a real interested in the production side of the busines. Much of his spare time was spent in persuit of anything to do with steam - namely trains and boats.

 Charles Terry - Founder's Son

The senior of the 4 brothers who continued to grow the business in springs, hose clips and Terry bicycle saddles. He signed the deal to licence the Anglepoise lamp from George Carwardine and took the company public on the London stock exchange

Herbert Terry - Founder

Having had 12 children, he started a business winding spring at his home, a terraced house in Peakman Street, Redditch. But it was not long before the company acquired it’s first premises 400 yards away.
